Pre-Tour - Stay overnight in Yangshuo (or Guilin)
Arrive into Yangshuo the day before your tour is scheduled to begin as the tour is focused on the Yangshuo area for the first two days. We can also accommodate pick-up from your Guilin Hotel, depending upon your preferences. Day 1 - Stay overnight in Yangshuo Meet your tour guide and professional driver at your Yangshuo Hotel lobby, where you will commence the tour with a transfer to Xianggong Hill. Upon arriving at the base of the mountain, you will be required to walk up to the peak of the mountain (approximately 15 minutes) but be well rewarded with spectacular birds-eye views overlooking the Li River and surrounding karst scenery. |
Following the Xianggong Hill visit, you'll be transferred to the Yulong Valley where you will cycle around the bicycle/walking paths and enjoy the incredible surrounding scenery. At the end of the cycling experience, board your own private raft and flow down the Yulong River whilst a paddler on the back of the raft slowly pushes you along the river on the bamboo raft.
In the evening, enjoy a stroll along West Street with some dinner (not included in pricing) before watching the famous Impression 3rd Sister Liu Show which is held on the banks of the Li River during the evening. At the show's conclusion, you'll be transferred to your Yangshuo hotel for the rest of the evening at leisure. |
Day 2- Stay overnight in Guilin
Meet your tour guide in the morning and travel to Cuiping Hill, which is located in the Yangshuo Countryside. After walking uphill for approximately 15 minutes you will see some beautiful views overlooking the Yangshuo countryside consisting of rivers, rice paddies, villages and karst scenery. Thereafter, be transferred to Xingping where you will board your own Private Raft and travel along what’s considered to be the most beautiful section of the Li River. Admire the spectacular karst formations, surrounding villages and countryside scenery from your own private raft. |
In the afternoon, following the Private Li River Cruise, you will be transferred to Guilin City. From Yangshuo to Guilin, it typically takes 1.5 x hours and upon arriving into Guilin, you will visit one of the main attractions -the Reed Flute Cave.
The Reed Flute Cave is a large limestone cave located on the outskirts of Guilin city and allows visitors to get inside and see what's beneath the karst formations. A visit to the Reed Flute Cave takes approximately one hour and afterwards, subject to time (and your preferences), you're welcome to explore the central city lakes, pagodas and snack streets with our guide during the late afternoon/evening. You will be transferred to your Guilin City hotel, where the evening will be at leisure. |
Day 3 - Stay overnight in Ping'an Village
Meet your tour guide in the morning at your Guilin Hotel (meeting time is flexible and can be discussed with your tour guide). You'll then be transferred to the Jinkeng Rice Terraces, which typically takes approximately 2 x hours from Guilin. Upon arriving into Dazhai Village, you have a couple of different options that can be discussed with your tour guide, depending upon preferences. Visitors can either choose to explore the Rice Terraces by hiking to the different viewpoints/villages or alternatively, take the cable car from Dazhai Village to Golden Buddha Peak. Either option can be accommodated. |
Following the visit to Jinkeng Rice Terraces, you'll be transferred directly to the Ping'an Village carpark. From the carpark, depending upon the time you arrive, there are options to either hike up to the Nine Dragons & Five Tigers Viewpoint or alternatively, go directly to your hotel.
Within Ping'an Village, most of the hotels are located within the village itself but with varying views depending upon location. We typically recommend visitors to book one of the boutique hotels a little higher up in the village as whilst it requires more of a walk, the views are nicer. Porters can be hired for an additional fee to transport luggage or luggage can be kept in a secure storage for a small fee. The evening is spent at leisure in Ping'an Village, overlooking the Longi Rice Terraces. |
Day 4 - Stay overnight in Sanjiang
Meet your tour guide in the morning at your Ping'an Village Hotel lobby. Start the day off by exploring the Longji Rice Terraces, surrounding Ping'an Village and with the option to hike to the different scenic viewpoints. Thereafter, continue hiking to the Zhuang Ethnic Minority Village - which is located on a primarily downhill walk (approximately 45 minutes away from Ping'an Village). The Longji Zhuang Ethnic Minority Village is a quieter village (compared to Ping'an Village) and at the village, we have a local host who invites our clients into their home for a unique local meal experience. |
Inside the house, which is a traditional Zhuang Ethnic Minority style home, visitors will enjoy a variety of dishes including the choices of Bamboo Chicken, Bamboo Rice, vegetables and other local specialties. There is also an option for vegetarian meals (or if you have other food restrictions) if preferred - please advise us in advance.
Following the local meal, explore the Longji Zhuang Village before walking down to the carpark where the driver will be awaiting your arrival to transfer you to the next destination - the Chengyang Dong Minority Villages. It takes approximately 1.5 x hours to travel to Chengyang from the Longji Rice Terrraces. |
In the afternoon, visit the Chengyang Wind and Rain Bridge, which is one of the most famous landmarks in Guangxi Province and an example of one of the many Dong ethnic minority bridges in the region. Aside from this famous bridge (which has been constructed without a single nail), you can also choose to explore the surrounding villages. There is a nice hike up to the nearby hill offering a panoramic view overlooking the villages and bridge (optional - no additional fee).
After exploring the bridge and villages, you'll be transferred to the town of Sanjiang where you will stay overnight and have the evening at leisure. |
Day 5- Stay overnight in Zhaoxing Dong Ethnic Minority Village

Following the visit to the Drum Tower and subsequent departure from Sanjiang, you'll then be transferred into Guizhou Province to the Tang'an Dong Ethnic Minority Village. Located in the hills near Zhaoxing, Tang'an is a scenic little village with rice terraces and short hike down to Zhaoxing Dong Ethnic Minority Village. After exploring the village, visitors can choose to either hike down to Zhaoxing or be transferred into Zhaoxing, depending upon preferences. |
Thereafter, upon arriving into Zhaoxing Dong Ethnic Minority Village, you can choose to check-in to the hotel and afterwards, explore the village. During the early evening in Zhaoxing there is a show that introduces visitors to the Dong ethnic minority culture and is an option (no additional fee) for visitors to watch.
Also, the night view of Zhaoxing Dong Ethnic Minority Village is also very beautiful, offering visitors a bird's eye view from a nearby hill. This can also be visited (if it's of interest), otherwise, the remainder of the evening is at leisure. |
Day 6 - Stay overnight in Guiyang
Meet your guide in the morning and continue exploring the Zhaoxing Dong Ethnic Minority Village before traveling to one of South-Eastern Guizhou Provinces more popular villages - Basha Miao Ethnic Minority Village. This particular village is home to the Basha Miao Ethnic Minority - the last hunter-gatherers in China permitted to have guns. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore the village and see a performance undertaken by the local villagers. the more isolated and 'off-the-beaten track villages. Full of wooden houses and a nearby river, Basha introduces visitors to the traditional culture and is an interesting village for a stopover. |
After visiting Basha, stopover at the off-the-beaten track village of Huanggang. Here, it feels like going back in time and a major change from Basha and Zhaoxing villages! You will get to see a village 'lost in time' and of which the majority of Guizhou Province's villages previously looked like. Aside from the village exploration, we assist the local community by arranging a private performance where the famous 'dong choir' songs are sung by local villagers.
Following the visit to Huanggang, you will be transferred to the railway station to take a high-speed train to Guiyang. In Guiyang, upon arriving, you'll be transferred to your Guiyang Hotel to enjoy the evening at leisure. |
