Day 1 – Stay overnight in Wulingyuan
- 9:00 am: Meet at your Wulingyuan Hotel Lobby.
- 9:30 am: Enter Zhangjiajie National Park
- 10:00 am – 2:00 pm: Visit Tianzi Mountain via Cable Car including sightseeing at Yuanjiajie
- 3:00 – 4:00 pm: Return to base of Zhangjiajie via the Bailong Elevator (the world’s highest outdoor elevator)
- 4:30 pm: Return transfer to Wulingyuan Hotel
- 5:00 pm onwards: Evening at leisure
- 7:00 am: Meet at your Wulingyuan Hotel Lobby.
- 7:30 am: Enter Zhangjiajie National Park
- 8:00 am: Arrive at Golden Whip Stream

Detailed Tour Itinerary:
Pre-Tour – Stay overnight in Wulingyuan
Arrive into Wulingyuan the day before your tour is scheduled to begin or alternatively, activities/itinerary/day order can be changed to reflect your arrival time. The tour can also commence from Zhangjiajie City if preferred or upon arrival.
Day 1– Stay overnight in Wulingyuan
Begin the day by visiting Tianzi Mountain in Zhangjiajie National Park. Tianzi Mountain is one of the four main scenic spots in Zhangjiajie providing spectacular views overlooking the various peaks and valley.
Following the visit to Tianzi Mountain, travel to the Yuanjiajie Scenic Spot, which is one of the most spectacular areas of Zhangjiajie. It was made famous by the movie Avatar which features this section of the park throughout the movie. You will also take the Bailong Elevator, which is a glass elevator built into the side of a cliff within the Zhangjiajie National Park. In the afternoon, return transfer to your Wulingyuan Hotel for an evening at leisure.
Day 2 – Stay overnight in Wulingyuan
Today the activities will depend upon your departure time from Zhangjiajie. However, the plan is to have an early morning start (7:00 am) to visit and hike along Golden Whip Stream, which is a scenic trail winding through Zhangjiajie alongside the River.
Thereafter, visit the Yellow Dragon Cave, a karst cave located in the Wulingyuan Scenic Area and the most famous cave within Zhangjiajie. Afterwards, travel to the incredible Zhangjiajie Glass Bridge to cross the bridge and view the Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon from above whilst on the Glass Bridge. Following the Glass Bridge visit, you’ll be transferred back to your Wulingyuan Hotel to enjoy the afternoon and evening at leisure.
Day 3 – Stay overnight in FenghuangIn the morning, you wll meet your tour guide and driver at your Wulingyuan Hotel lobby and enjoy the morning visiting Baofeng Lake, which is a large freshwater lake within the Wulingyuan area of Zhangjiajie. Thereafter, depart Zhangjiajie by high speed train with 2nd class seating and transfer to Fenghuang Ancient Town, where you will spend the afternoon, evening and following morning.
Fenghuang is a famous Chinese ancient town located in Hunan Province, which was first constructed during the Ming dynasaty. During the afternoon and evening, you’ll explore the town’s alleys and be amazed at the incredible view when Fenghuang comes alive at night!
Day 4 – Fenghuang to Zhangjiajie via Furong Ancient Town
Today’s tour begins with meeting your guide at your Fenghuang hotel for a morning exploring Fenghuang Ancient Town, wandering its riverside alleys, stilted wooden houses, and centuries-old streets. Enjoy an early lunch in town before checking out.
From Fenghuang, you’ll be transferred to the high-speed train station for a short ride to Furong Ancient Town, one of China’s most picturesque “hanging” towns, built into the cliffside above a roaring waterfall. Spend the afternoon exploring its ancient streets, wooden stilt houses, and the dramatic Furong Waterfall that runs straight through the town.
In the late afternoon, board the high-speed train back to Zhangjiajie, where your private driver will be waiting to transfer you directly to your hotel in Zhangjiajie City downtown. Spend the evening at leisure.
Day 5 – Stay overnight in Zhangjiajie City/END OF TOUR
To begin today’s tour, you’ll meet your tour guide and driver at your Zhangjiajie City Hotel lobby. The time will be discussed the night beforehand as there are allocated times for entering Tianmen Mountain. Upon arriving at Tianmen Mountain, you’ll board the world’s longest cable car from the base of the mountain to the peak. From there, explore the huge natural arch of Tianmen Cave, a hiking trail (ranging in difficulty) offering different views overlooking the karst landforms and even walk across a transparent glass walkway!
In the afternoon, we will drop you off at your hotel to enjoy the evening at leisure or with a flight/train station transfer for departure to conclude the tour. END OF TOUR.
