Yangshuo Cycling is becoming more and more popular among tourists. Yangshuo Cycling doesn’t offer the stunning natural beauty but also old villages. You can also just enjoy cycling along the Yulong River or the Li River in Xingping.

What to expect at Yangshuo Cycling
Yangshuo has several popular cycling routes to explore.
Route 1: Fuli Bridge – Jiuxian Village – Xiangui Bridge – Gongnong Bridge – Jima Village / Ten-mile Gallery
If you just want to take a short cycling tour in Yangshuo, this route is a good option but it offers beautiful Yangshuo countryside views to you. The old Fuli Bridge spans over the Yulong River. Karst hills stand in the distance, which makes for a great background for the bridge itself and the reflection in the river. You can experience cycling at Jiuxian Village which is more than 200 years old. Gongnong Bridge is also one of the old stone villages in the Yulong River Scenic Area.

Route 2: Yangshuo – Big Banyan Tree – Moon Hill – Moon Hill Village – Fushan Temple – Yan Village – Tianjia River – Yangshuo
Distance: 20 kilometers
This route features the most breathtaking views in Yangshuo countryside. First, you’ll ride to Gongnong Bridge where you can enjoy the scenic point of “Camel Cross River” and the intersection of Yulong River and Jinbao River. From the Big Banyan Tree, ride for 1 kilometer and you’ll pass by the Moon Hill. When you arrive at Moon Hill Village which offers the beautiful panoramic views of the hill. The village has several hotels and local restaurants. You can have lunch and take a rest there. Ride along the trail near the Fushan Temple, cross a stone bridge and you’ll reach Yan Village. If you get to Tianjia River in the late afternoon, you may be able to appreciate the sunset there. Go ahead to Aishan, ride for 5 kilometers and you’ll return back to Yangshuo.
Route 3: Yangshuo – Kangzhan Road – Ten-mile Gallery
Distance: 9 kilometers
You can rent a bicycle in Yangshuo and ride along Kangzhan Road then to the Ten-mile Gallery. The route is the most popular with the tourists. In the Ten-mile Gallery, you can see Tuteng Old Trail, and Butterfly Spring. Ride to Gonggong Bridge, you’ll be able to enjoy the panoramic views of the Big Banyan Tree, pass by Jianshan Temple, Julong Pond and finally get to the Moon Hill. The entrance to the Ten-mile Gallery near the hill offers the gorgeous bird’s eye views of the hill.

Route 4: Yangshuo – Fuli Old Town – Donglang Hill – Xingping Old Town
Distance: 20 kilometers
First, ride across Yangshuo Bridge to Fuli Old Town. If you start in the early morning, the bridge may reward you with the amazing sunrise. When getting to the town, ride northward and you’ll pass Donglang Hill and finally reach Xingping. The route has bamboo forests, and rice fields with different corps to enjoy. If you experience cycling in middle August, you may see locals harvesting rice in the traditional way.

The best months to experience Yangshuo Cycling are from April to October.

- As at 4th October 2020, the rental for a bicycle in Yangshuo is from 20 CNY to 50 CNY per bike.
