What is the Tongling Grand Canyon?
Situated around 230 kilometers from Nanning, Tongling Grand Canyon is composed of Tongling Valley, an underground river, a tunnel, waterfalls and a cave. The canyon is home to primitive forests with hundreds of old trees. You’ll also find the ruins for hanging coffins of the Zhuang People and other ruins.

What to expect at Tongling Grand CanyonThe Nianba River flows from the peak of the Gulong Mountains and passes through the five different gorges. Each gorge has unique natural sceneries and cultural attraction. Overall the canyon presents a series of rare and mesmerizing natural and human landscapes like ultrahigh waterfall groups, waterfalls inside caves, underground river, streams in gorges, spectacular cave sightseeing, ancient stone base, ancient suspended burial places etc.
A variety of vibrant valuable ancient plants, profound valleys, clear streams and green vegetation enhances its beauty further. The most scenic spot is the 168-meter-high and 30-meter-wide Tongling ultrahigh waterfall, which is the highest waterfall of southeast China. Tongling Grand Canyon is a spot full of livingness and intelligence and attracts tourist through its sheer rareness, magnificence and beauty. Best time to visit Tongling Grand Canyon
If you’d like to enjoy a relatively quiet environment, the best time to visit is in the morning.

How to get to Tongling Grand Canyon
Unfortunately, there is no direct bus from Nanning to the canyon. The only option is to rent a vehicle.

- Opening hours: 08:00 - 17:000
- As at 5th October 2020, the entrance pricing to the area (not including the bamboo raft and shuttle bus) is 115 CNY per person; children under 1.2m tall (1.2m tall not included) are free of charge; children between 1.2m tall (1.2m tall included) and 1.5m tall (1.5m tall not included) are charged 60 CNY per person; the elder above 60 years old (60 years old included) are charged 60 CNY per person.
- As at 5th October 2020, the entrance pricing to the shuttle bus in the area is 10 CNY per person; children under 1.2m tall (1.2m tall not included) are free of charge; children between 1.2m tall (1.2m tall included) and 1.5m tall (1.5m tall included) are charged 10 CNY per person.

- It is not suggested that the younger children, the elder and those whose body conditions are not so good to visit the canyon as it requires at least 1 hour walk including the distance of more than 800 steps.
- It is suggested that you take an umbrella or a raincoat with you to prevent the water from the waterfall in the cave.
- Please take enough drinking water and food with you.
