Located at No. 133, Nanbin Road, Nan’an District, Madame Tussauds Chongqing was opened on September 10, 2016. With an area of around 2,000 square meters, it is opposite Chongqing Theater.
With some 60 wax figures, Madame Tussauds Chongqing is composed of 8 theme halls – Global Movie, Sports Star, TV On-air Studio, World Leaders, World Civilization, Behind-the-Scene Journey, Music Pioneer and Super Stars.
In the museum, you can be able to take pictures with Taylor Swift, Jordan, Lady Gaga, Beckham, Jackie Chen, Putin, Einstein, Steve Jobs, Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, Yao Ming, etc.
In addition, Behind-the-Scene Journey Hall offers a chance to you to experience the fun of making wax works by yourself. You could get a little acquainted with the story of Madame Tussauds and the history of Madame Tussauds Wax Museum.
The best time to visit Madame Tussauds Chongqing is in the evening as there are fewer visitors during the period of time.
The best months to visit are from March to October.
A few buses pass by the museum. Therefore, there are just a few options.
- Rent a vehicle to the museum. This is the quickest and most direct option.
- Take Bus 338 and Bus 373 to the Stop of Nanbinlu Changjiahui (南滨路长嘉汇站).
- Opening hours: 10:00 – 21:30 (visitors are not permitted to enter the museum after 20:30)
- As at 23rd October 2020, between 10:00 and 21:30, the entrance pricing to the museum is 190 CNY per person; children between 1m tall (1m tall included) and 1.4m tall (1.4m tall included) are charged 190 CNY per person; children under 1m tall (1m tall not included) are free of charge.
- Between 18:00 and 21:30, the entrance pricing to the museum is 150 CNY per person; children between 1m tall (1m tall included) and 1.4m tall (1.4m tall included) are charged 150 CNY per person; children under 1m tall (1m tall not included) are free of charge.
