Originally built in the Western Zhou Dynasty (1046 BC - 771 BC), Great Wall of China is the oldest defense project with the longest construction time and the largest amount of engineering in China and even in the world.
Although from the Qin Dynasty through the Qing Dynasty, the Great Wall of China had been repaired or built, the Great Wall built in the Ming Dynasty (1368 -1644) is the best preserved one among those in other dynasties.

Nowadays, visitors can explore the following sections of the Great Wall in Beijing Area: Badaling, Mutianyu, Jinshanling, Huanghuacheng, Gubeikou, Simatai, Jiankou, Shuiguan, and Julong Pass. How to get to the Great Wall of China
As the Great Wall of China winds through tens of provinces around China, there could be no direct bus to the Great Wall in some places. Please search for the transportation information prior to your visit to the Great Wall.

- Please climb the right section of Great Wall of China based on your conditions as some sections are very steep that it is rather hard to climb. Otherwise, you could take the chairlift uphill and take the toboggan downhill.
- If you are planning to visit the Great Wall of China in winter, please take good care of yourself as the road on the wall is always frozen.
- If you are planning to visit the Great Wall of China in summer, it is recommended that you explore it in the morning as generally speaking, it always takes 4 - 5 hours to explore.
- The goods on the wall is much more expensive than that at the foot of the mountain. If you wouldn’t like to carry too much things, it is suggested that you buy food and drink on the wall.
