Lying at the heart of Guilin City, Zhengyang Pedestrian Street is the oldest commercial street in Guilin City. Opened to the public in 2001, the street can be said to be the most popular among locals and tourists.

According to the related historical facts, Zhengyang Pedestrian Street was the place where a variety of shops, such as tailor shops, paper shops, and the like, gathered. In the Tang (618 -907) and Song (960 - 1279) Dynasties, it was the cultural center of Guilin dramas, including Guangxi opera, and Caidiao, the local drama in Guilin.
Nowadays, Zhengyang Pedestrian Street offers local snacks, local specialties, boutique shops and local chain restaurants to explore including Guilin Rice Noodles, Guilin Chili Sauce, etc. The pricing is reasonable as well. You can find the classical European buildings as well as the buildings in the local style along the street. In addition, you’ll see the reliefs of Guilin landscape. The red clock tower is the most outstanding landmark there. At the south end of the street is near the Lijiang Waterfall Hotel with the largest artificial waterfall in the world and the City Lakes Scenic Area. Usually, the waterfall demonstration starts at 20:30 and lasts for some 10 minutes every weekend. |

- Take Bus 10, 11, 14, 18, 24, 25 or Bus 30 to the Stop of Liberation Bridge (解放桥站) which is just within 2 minutes walk from the street.
