1. Wulingyuan Scenic Area
Composed of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, Suoxiyu Nature Reserve, Tianzi Mountain Nature Reserve, Wulingyuan Scenic Area is acclaimed “Natural Maze”, “Geological Museum”, “Kingdom of Forests”, and “Paradise for Wild Animals”.
Zhangjiajie National Forest Park could be said that it is the most popular spot in Zhangjiajie. You could explore Yuanjiajie, one of the shooting locations of Avatar, Golden Whip Stream with natural beauty to explore on foot, Yangjiajie – a newly developed area with some 200 spots in the park and Yaozi Village.

Suoxiyu Nature Reserve is famed for Ten-mile Gallery. The valley features hundreds of rocks with different appearances. If you are a keen hiker, you could explore the valley on foot. Or if you don’t like walking so long, you could take a small train. There are other spots, such as Shuirao Simen, Baizhang Valley, and Xihai and the like.

In the cave, you could enjoy boating on the underground Xiangshui River for some 800 meters long.

4. Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon

5. Tianmen Mountain
If you would like to experience the longest cableway for now in the world, Tianmen Mountain offers you a chance. The cableway is 7,455 meters long from the foot to the top of the mountain. When you arrive on the top of the mountain, you will find a well-preserved primitive forest.
​There are around 20 spots on the top. If you want to explore Tianmen Cave, you have to climb 999 steps from the top of the mountain. The mountain also has a winding road with 99 turns to experience. Please note, tourists are required to book the ticket for the mountain 1 day at least in advance.
5. Furong Old Town
Furong Old Town was the old capital of Tujia Kingdom from the Qin Dynasty (221 BC – 207BC) to Han Dynasty (202 BC – 8 AD, 25 AD – 220 AD). It is famous for the waterfall running through the town.
​The town offers an old street lined with typical Tujia buildings. Night views there are also breathtaking in August. In August, it may be a little crowded as it is during the summer holiday in China.
