1. Li River Cruise

Known for its landscape, Li River always amazed us with its one-of-a-kind charm. After the rain, you could be impressed by the misty Li River. It also looks like natural Chinese painting after the rain. On fine days in April, you will wow at the amazing views along the river as well.

Big boats operating daily

Big boats on the Li River are unaffected by any weather condition. If you don’t mind sharing space with other passengers, the big boats are a good option. It runs for around 4 hours from Guilin to Yangshuo. You will admire most of the highlights along the river on the boat.

Private motorized raft

Private motorized raft is perfect for those who are uncomfortable to share space with others. The raft will take you to the most breathtaking views along the river. If you don’t like to take the big boats for long, the private motorized raft is a great option as well. It starts from Xingping to Nine-horse Fresco Hill and back to Xingping. It lasts for some 70 minutes.

2. Yulong River & Yulong Valley

In April, the Yulong River Valley is beginning to be dotted with seedlings and colorful flowers of local fruit trees. Some of the farmland is filled with water. In the sun, you will see the crystal-clear water in the field sparking. It looks like shining stars in the sky.

In April, it is cool in Yangshuo. Bamboo rafting is a great option to discover views there. The landscape along the Yulong River is breathtaking as that along the Li River. Locals control the raft with a bamboo pole. You will get a little acquainted with the traditional rafting way in Yangshuo and Guilin Region.

Hiking or cycling is also a good option to admire the natural beauty in the Yulong River Valley. Some section of the roads in the area could be muddy and bumpy after the rain. But most of the roads are flat. You could decide on whether you will do hiking or cycling the day you explore the valley.

3. West Street

West Street is a combination of various types of restaurants, hotels, boutiques, bars and so on. You will experience the collision between Western and Chinese culture on the street.

You could just walk around the street to find something interesting, or have a cup of coffee at one café after a long journey or experience local night life at one bar at night.

4. Impression 3rd Sister Liu Show

If it doesn’t rain heavily, Impression 3rd Sister Liu Show will be regularly on. With 12 karst hills as the background and nearly 2-kilometers-long Li River as the stage, the show presents us the unique visual feast.

In addition, locals in different costumes of ethnic minorities in Guilin Region demonstrate local culture as well. Tens of bamboo rafts are employed in the show. You will also get to know some on the local farming culture.

5. Xianggong Hill

In the past few years, thousands of foreign tourists and Chinese domestic tourists have explored Xianggong Hill. The Li River runs by the bottom of the hill. Xianggong hill offers a good chance to appreciate the bird’s eye view of the river and amazing sunrise in the very early morning.

6. Cuiping Hill

Cuiping Hill is well-known for its breathtaking sunset. Plots of farmland at the foot of the hill and karst hills in the distance make for great photography materials as well. To a large extent, wisps of smoke rise continuously from the village chimneys during the sunset, which adds more charm to the views. Compared to the stone steps on the Xianggong Hill, the road on the Cuiping Hill is more difficult to walk on.

7. Silver Cave

Compared to the Reed Flute Cave, the Silver Cave in the Yangshuo countryside is more popular among Chinese domestic visitors.

However, it offers the same gorgeous stalactites as those in the Reed Flute Cave. It is recommended that you get to the cave by 10:00 am if you’d like to explore the Silver Cave.
