Covering an area of 117 square kilometers, Yangcheng Lake lies around 5 kilometers northeast of Suzhou City. It has a winding shoreline of 9.67 kilometers. It is well-known for Yangcheng Lake Hairy Crab across China.

Located at the southern bank of the lake, Yangcheng Lake Peninsula Tourist Resort, home to Guardian Art Center has a total area of 24.39 square kilometers with a water area of the inner lake of 9 square kilometers. It offers natural beauty, new tourist programs and advanced tourist facilities to enjoy.
Lianchihu Park is popular for the appealing lotus in blossom in summer. You can also find old bridges in the Ming (1368 – 1644) and Qing (1644 – 1912) Dynasties. It is decorated with a variety of flowers, such as Magnolia denudata, Hibiscus, iris, purple magnolia, wintersweet, etc.

In spring, the sakura island always has amazing views to appreciate. You’ll find a quiet environment in the wetland in the area, seeing birds flying over rice fields, and admire the sunset. From middle May to middle June and from middle July to middle August, you yourself can experience picking loquats and pears at the Yangcheng Xihu Orchard. Xianyinghu Park and Yunshanhu Park are also good choices to take a walk and enjoy colorful flowers around the year.
At Chongyuan Temple originally built in 503, you’ll be amazed at the tallest Pavilion of Avalokitesvara on the water, the tallest indoor statue of Avalokitesvara, the tallest and largest main hall, the largest drum and bell tower and the longest bridge in a temple around the country.
The Gothic catholic church in the tourist is the tallest in China. The main tower is some 77.6 meters tall. You can watch movies, experience the bungee jumping with a height of 50 meters, taste the banquet in the Tang Dynasty (618 – 907) style at the Huayi Brothers Movie World with an area of 460, 000 square meters.
If interested, you can enjoy cycling, helicopter tour, and playing golf in the Yangcheng Lake Peninsula Tourist Resort. If you’d like to visit the lake for photography purposes, the best time to visit is at sunrise or sunset.
The best months to visit are from April to October.
Unfortunately, there is no direct bus to the Yangcheng Lake Peninsula Tourist Resort. The only option is to rent a vehicle.
