In spring in Xishuangbanna Primitive Forest Park, you will experience the cultural show on peacocks, the cultural show on the rainforest, the cultural show on the folk costumes and the cultural show of the folk customs in Xishuangbanna Primitive Forest Park.
The park features a peacock park with more than 400 green peacocks. Before the flying of peacocks, you will appreciate a singing show between Dai boys and girls. Boys stand on a big bamboo raft while girls with a beautiful oiled paper umbrella open above the head stand on another bamboo raft. Then, boys and girls will dance together on one raft or by the lake. The show is followed by the flying of peacocks. They fly down to the bank of the lake from the white pagoda on the top of the opposite mountain. The flying starts at 08:40, 10:00, 12:00, 13:20, 14:40, 15:30 and 17:00. Every flying lasts for about 10 minutes. If it is rainy, the flying will be canceled.
In the park, you could also experience water-splashing carnival. If lucky enough, you will admire the ascending the throne ceremony of the leader of Dai Kingdom. The Aini Village is also a highlight in the park. Wandering the park, you will refresh yourself in singing of birds and fragrance of flowers. If interested, you could rent a suit of Dai costumes to take pictures. If you walk for long and feel a little tired, restaurants offering local food and drinks in the park are a good choice to you.
