Usually, the Old City Wall is referred to the city wall originally built in the Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644). It is 13.7 kilometers long. In the sunlight during the sunset, it shows the most beautiful views. Just explore it with your feet or on a bike along the wall and you could get an unforgettable experience. The Bell and Drum Towers feature the Chinese national architectural style in the Ming Dynasty. Standing around 200 meters from each other, both of them are the landmarks in Xi’an. At the Drum Tower, you could enjoy drum shows at regular times. At night, the two towers show amazing views in the silver, green and golden lights.

When we visit a new city, we would like to try the local food out of our curiosity. The Muslim Quarter offers you a chance to taste authentic local food, including Rougamo, Paomo, Biangbiang Noodles and Liangpi. You could also explore the quarter where the Muslims have lived there for hundreds of years. Huaqing Palace has the green Li Mountain as the background, offering tens of old buildings in the Tang style. In addition, the ruins of the bathing ponds for the royal family in the Tang Dynasty are well-preserved there. You could also hike on the mountain and immerse yourself in birds’ singing. At night on warm days, the Everlasting Regret Show presents the love story between Yang Yuhuan (719 - 756) and Emperor Tang Minghuang (685 - 762).

Originally, terracotta warriors and horses is a category of ancient tomb sculptures. More than 8,000 terracotta warriors whose size is similar to real human beings are found in the three pits excavated at the Museum of the Terracotta Warriors and Horses of Qin Shihuang have. The warriors, horses and chariots form the great battle formation. Hua Mountain is one of the dream mountains in the mind of many people. You could take a cable car up to some spot on the mountain and then explore the rest with your foot. Most of the steps are very steep and it requires 3 hours at least to the top of one of the four peaks. To climb the Hua Mountain is a challenge to your body, spirit and your mind. It is not recommended that you take the elder and the young children to experience it.

The Great Mosque of Xi’an is set in the Muslim Quarter. It is typical of the Tang style – simple but solemn. Foreigners like to visit it. Local Muslims worship regularly there. In the mosque composed of four courtyards, you could find a large screen wall with fine brick carvings at the first courtyard and a colorful caisson ceiling featuring the Muslim style at the main hall. The Tang Paradise offers you a great chance to get a little acquainted with the Tang culture in one sight. You could admire the largest royal buildings complex in the Tang style across China at the theme park. It also offers you different shows in the Tang style to appreciate at different periods of time during the daytime. In addition, you can enjoy the largest water screen film in the world at night there.

The Shanxi History Museum could be said to be a rare treasure house to Xi’an. The rare and precious exhibits there reflect and witness the history of Xi’an. The museum features the frescoes found in the royal family in the Tang Dynasty. What’s more, the ancient painted pottery in the prehistoric age, ancient bronze wares, old building materials, jewelry and coins in ancient Xi’an are well-preserve there as well. Compared to the Old City Wall, the Forest of Stone Steles Museum is much less popular among tourists. However, it is worth visiting if you are keen on and study the classic Chinese calligraphy. At the museum, you will see the stone steles made in the Eastern Han Dynasty (25 AD – 220 AD), inscriptions on the gravestones from the Jin Dynasty (266 - 420) to the Qing Dynasty (1644 - 1912), exquisite stone sculptures and much more.
