Xi'an Best AttractionsHua Mountain is acclaimed as one of the most dangerous and steepest mountains in China. Though, plenty of tourists have conquered it or are planning to conquer it. It shows different breathtaking views in different seasons. It is opened to the public around the year. You could enjoy the sunrise from the top of the East Peak and the sunset from the top of the West Peak.
As the largest and best-preserved city wall across China, the Old City Wall was originally built in 1370 and completed in 1378. It is composed of moats, suspension bridges, watchtowers, crenels, and more. On sunny days, the best time to explore it is during the sunset. You could ride a bike along it, walk along it or just take a shuttle bus if you don’t like hiking for long.

Originally built in the Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644), the Bell and Drum Towers are within walk-distance from the Old City Wall. The Bell Tower offers fine wooden carvings on doors and windows and colorful caisson ceilings. The Drum Tower is the largest of its kind in China. Several drums are on display there. The Muslim Quarter is just within 10 minutes walk from the Bell Tower. You will be amazed at a variety of cuisine there, including local food, such as Biangbiang Noodles, Liangpi, Paomo, and Rougamo. Situated in the Muslim Quarter, the Great Mosque of Xi’an features the simple but solemn Tang (618 - 907) style distinctive from other mosques. It is popular among foreign visitors. In history, Huaqing Palace was the royal garden. The Tang Dynasty was the peak period for the garden.
