Opened to the public in October, 1995, Vietnamese Women’s Museum introduces the contributions of the Vietnamese women to the country through pictures, artifacts, traditional clothing and other materials.
What to expect at the Vietnam Women's Museum
In honor of the contributions of Vietnamese women throughout its history, Vietnamese Women’s Museum presents a variety of materials to visitors. The exhibits demonstrate all aspects of of Vietnamese women’s life from marriage, fertility, work, and Vietnam War. You will see beautiful Vietnamese traditional costumes and accessories there.
The museum is aimed to study and research the role of Vietnamese women in modern society from three aspects, including their fashion customs, family life and historical events in the country. It offers audio-guide with multi-language to the visitors. After visiting the museum, you may be shocked at the power of the Vietnamese women.
A whole floor is dedicated to display the exhibits which reflect the Vietnamese women's resistance to the French movement and participation in the Vietnam War. In addition, the museum also presents various ceremonies of different ethnic groups in different regions throughout Vietnam. Several videos also show the hardship and contributions of the Vietnamese women in history.
