From 8pm on, the night markets in Turpan become more and more crowed. You could try the four famous food of Turpan at the night market, Bean Noodles (豆豆面, made of a type of bean, which can only be found at the night market in Turpan but not across China), steamed pilaf with raisin (葡萄干抓饭), fried chicken (大盘斗鸡, the chicken comes from the cocks which are beaten by other cocks in the cockfighting) and steamed mutton with carrots. The kebabs in Turpan are made of fresh local authentic mutton. You will be amazed at its taste.
At the night market, you will see baked samosa which can only found in Xinjiang. Delicious and good-looking, it is filled with mutton or beef. If interested, you can also try jujube juice. The night market offers a variety of raisins to you to choose from. In addition, beautiful local Uigur costumes, such as embroidered hats and clothes always attract a lot of visitors.
