Banpo Site MuseumBanpo Site Museum will let you get a little acquainted with the Yangshuo Culture of matriarchy during the Neolithic Age in Xi’an through the ruins of a burial area, a residential area, and a living area and the precious exhibits. The highlight during the period of time is painted pottery. The museum is less touristy.
10. Forest of Stone Steles MuseumIf you are interested in the classical Chinese calligraphy, the best spot during your stay in Xi’an is the Forest of Stone Steles Museum. There, you could find nearly four schools of the Chinese calligraphy. In addition, you will see the fine stone statues of Buddha, the reliefs of the six horses found in the Zhao Tomb – the everlasting sleeping place for Emperor Taizong (598 - 649) and inscriptions on gravestones in ancient China.
