What to expect at the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom History MuseumThe Taiping Heavenly Kingdom History Museum is composed of 4 exhibition halls with more than 1,657 pieces of collections, more than 10,000 pictures of a variety of cultural relics, and ruins to tell the entire history of the kingdom.
20 cannons used by soldiers of the kingdom stand in the court. The exquisite golden Chinese jacket with dragon patterns on could only be worn by the senior officials. The imperial jade seal, the dragon robe, and the golden crown used by Hong Xiuquan (1814 - 1864) are also highlights there. The old Shangping, similar to nowadays’s business license and Tianping, similar to today’s land certificate are well-preserved. You’ll also see the then coins in the museum. The old-fashioned swords and spears reflect that the then soldiers of the Kingdom strongly resisted the governance of the Qing Dynasty Court (1644 - 1912). They got nothing but endless pain, poverty and inequality from the court. Frescoes in the museum demonstrate some significant facts on the kingdom.
