What to expect at the Small Wild Goose PagodaAlso known as “Jianfu Temple”, Small Wild Goose Pagoda is a brick structure. It is composed of an underground palace, the base, the tower body, and the decoration on the top. The base of the Small Wild Goose Pagoda is a square platform built in bricks. There is one arch in the north and the south of the base of the pagoda. The north arch is close to the brick gate which was built in the Qing Dynasty (1644 - 1912). The frame of the gate is built in bluestones. The carved patterns on the frame reflect the artistic style of the early Tang Dynasty (618 - 907).

The underground palace is located under the base. On the base is the tower body. Compared with other floors, the ground floor of the tower body is the largest and tallest. The first floor is smaller and shorter than the ground floor. The second floor is smaller and shorter than the first floor and so on. The wooden ladder spirals up to the top of the pagoda.
Compared to Great Wild Goose Pagoda, Small Wild Goose Pagoda is quieter. Visitors can enjoy the shadow play near the pagoda and appreciate the stone sculptures outside the pagoda, such as Buddhist, lions, horses, etc and the old complex. Visitors can hit the Morning Bell of Wild Goose Pagoda (雁塔晨钟). The pricing for the hitting is based on the times of the hitting. Visitors can hit the bell 3 times, 6 times or 9 times. Different times have different meanings. If lucky, visitors will see Chinese classical music lovers play music in the museum.
