People’s Road Dali is composed of the western section and the eastern section. The west one, the more crowded is a combination of bars, and restaurants. The eastern one is a combination of workshops, relatively quiet pubs, and bookstores.
In the afternoon, a variety of interesting stalls always show up on the road. The owners of the stalls sell their own items, such as handicrafts and the old items. Some street singers also offer beautiful songs. Some of them sing the original songs to music created by their hands on a guitar. Some of them are just the backpackers in Dali.
You could also explore the old Bai houses and the lanes connected to the road if you are more interested to get much acquainted with the local life. In the evening, the punk pub run by a British always attracts many tourists. In one of the bars, you may befriend with one of the travelers and share the traveling experience with one another. If you are hungry, you could try local food at one of the restaurants on the eastern section or just refresh yourself at one of the Western restaurants.
Vehicles except bikes or local shuttle buses are forbidden to run on the road. Thus, you could visit the road with your foot or on a bike.
