Ninh Binh is a combination of natural beauty, traditional Vietnamese culture and old historic sites.
If you stay in Hanoi but want to enjoy the amazing scenery at Tam Coc in Ninh Binh, it is convenient to take a car from Hanoi to the spot along the No. 1 Highway. It just takes around 2 hours ride. The Tam Coc features rural scenery with caves and hills. A river winds through the area.
For natural views in Ninh Binh, tourists also can visit Trang An Grottoes, Van Long Wetland Nature Reserve and Cuc Phuong National Park. If you are interested to see beautiful birds in Ninh Binh, Thung Nang and Thung Nham Bird Park is a great option.
If you are keen on the old culture, you could explore Hoa Lu Ancient Capital with many old traditional Vietnamese buildings. It worked as the capital in the Dinh Dynasty (968 – 980) and the Former Ly Dynasty (980 – 1009).
