Nanjing, formerly called Jinling and Jiankang in ancient China, is the capital of Jiangsu Province as well as the old capital for nearly 500 years. It has been the political, economical and cultural center of South China for long and played an important role in China’s history.

If you are a history and culture lovers, you can explore Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum, one of the largest royal mausoleums in China. It represents the highest achievement of architecture and stone carving in the early Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644).
City Wall of Nanjing is acclaimed as the longest, largest and most original city wall across the world. The construction experienced 28 years. The existing wall is 25.1 kilometers long.
Originally built in the early Ming Dynasty, Nanjing Presidential Palace has the traditional Chinese classical gardens on the Yangtze Delta along with the buildings in modern times to visit. It tells the history of Taiping Heavenly Kingdom (1851 - 1864) and the Republic of China (1912 - 1949). After exploring the palace, the nearby Nanjing 1912 Block with restaurants, cafes, and shopping malls is a good point to take a rest.
If you are interested in the history of Taiping Heavenly Kingdom, Zhan Garden is a good choice. It offers not only exquisite classical buildings but also precious exhibits telling the kingdom. In addition, it is open at night as well.
Niushoushan Cultural Tourism Zone is a combination of nature and Buddhism. The Buddhism Top Palace is a must-visit. You’ll be amazed and shocked at the splendid and magnificent decorations there.
Nanjing Confucius Temple is great for those who have strong interests in Confucianism. If you have enough time, you can also pay a visit to Linggu Temple, and Jiming Temple. The nearby tens of traditional Chinese classical buildings stand on either side of Qinhuai River. You can enjoy cruise in the day time and admire the stunning sunset along the river.
Yihe Road Residence Area will take you back to the Republic of China. The road is lined with sycamore trees and the distinctive buildings completed at that time. They are great fusions of the traditional Chinese style and the Western style.
Nanjing has Nanjing Museum, Nanjing Municipal Museum, and Nanjing Ming Palace Museum to walk around.
Qixia Mountain Scenic Spot is a paradise for photographers, especially in autumn when maple leaves turn red. Many other species of flowers in blossom in other seasons also make the visit unforgettable.

The best months to visit Nanjing are from April to October.

There are tens of airplanes to Nanjing from the main cities around China, such as Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Chongqing, Nanning, Wuhan, Guangzhou, Guilin, Xiamen, Kunming, Harbin, Xi’an, etc. There are many trains to Nanjing from Chengdu, Chongqing, Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Guiyang, Hangzhou, Suzhou, Guilin, Xiamen, etc. Please get to Nanjing by air or by train based on your schedule.
