Longji Rice Terraces in February
It is a little cold but warmer in February than that in January at the Longji Rice Terraces. It is also bare there in February. Most of the rice terraces are empty without any plants.
In February, it rains for several successive days in Longjir Rice Terraces. When it is rainy, you will feel a little colder. Longji Rice Terraces consists of Longji Zhuang Rice Terraces, Ping’an Zhuang Rice Terraces and Jinkeng Rice Terraces.

Exploring the Longji Rice Terraces
Longji Zhuang Rice Terraces is home to Zhuang people for hundreds of years. All of the buildings at the Longji Zhuang village are built by wood or bamboo. As few visitors are interested to discover the village, the local authentic custom is well-preserved there. Villagers live a simple life. In the mid February, the rice terraces are planted with shoots of rape flowers. Longji Zhuang Rice Terraces is great for those who are keen on local culture. Ping’an Zhuang Rice Terraces and Ping’an Village is the most developed village at the terraces. The tourist facilities are the best as well. There are tens of hotels to choose from. Usually, before the Spring Festival in February, rice terraces in front of the Viewpoint of Nine Dragons and Five Tigers are irrigated by water to prepare for the Spring Festival.
At the viewpoint, you will be amazed at the views on sunny days. Water dances in the sun and sparkles. You could hike to the Viewpoint of Seven Stars with the Moon from the Viewpoint of Nine Dragons and Five Tigers if you enjoy hiking to explore the village.

Longji Zhuang Village
As the largest rice terraces in Longji, Jinkeng Rice Terraces has 4 viewpoints to explore. Among them, the Viewpoint of Music from Paradise offers amazing sunrise while the Viewpoint of Golden Buddha Peak features the sunset on fine days. Compared to Ping’an Zhuang Rice Terraces, Jinkeng Rice Terraces is less developed. It is good for hiking. You could hike from Tiantouzhai Village to the Viewpoint of Seven Stars Chase the Moon and to the Viewpoint of Thousand Layers of the Heaven.
If you don’t like to hike uphill, you could take a cable car at Dazhai Village to the Viewpoint of Golden Buddha Peak and then hike downhill to explore the villages. If you would like to enjoy the sunrise in Jinkeng Rice Terraces, you could stay overnight at Tiantouzhai Village which is situated around 60 minutes hike from the Viewpoint of Seven Stars Chase the Moon.
It is recommended that you take enough warm clothes and an umbrella or a raincoat with you in case it rains in Longji Rice Terraces in February.
