The wall of Dongba hieroglyphics at Lijiang Dongba Kingdom is 99 meters long and 4.9 meters tall. The hieroglyphics present the theme of respect for nature and developing in harmony with nature of Dongba in ancient China. The theme is also in accordance with the development of the society in modern times. Dongba hieroglyphics is divided into 18 categories, such as astronomy, geology, humanity, birds, human body, etc. There are more than 1,400 hieroglyphics.

At Ancient Naxi Village, you could explore the primitive Naxi houses with the original layout and the old furniture. Colorful frescoes at the kingdom will let you know more about Naxi culture, and totems of Naxi people. One village is called Taliuren Village(他留人村). Taliuren people speak their own language but they don’t have writing system. Although they are considered a branch of Yi ethnic minority, they themselves think their ancestors are Han people. You will get a little acquainted with their distinctive customs at the village.

You will also find the statues of Chinese zodiac and twelve constellations. In addition, you will know some about lishu people, Yi people and Mosuo people at the kingdom. National dancing and singing shows are regularly put on there. There are a variety of local handicrafts for you to choose from.
