Lashi Lake - spectacular lake in Lijiang

Located around 10 kilometers west of Lijang, Lashi Lake is the largest plateau lake in Lijiang. From December to March, some 30,000 migratory birds always spend the warm winter by the lake. Thus, the period of time is ideal for bird watching. In spring, various types of flowers are in blossom there, making picturesque views.

If you would like to enjoy bird watching, it is recommended that you explore Lashi Lake between December and March. During the period of time, around 57 species of migratory birds will spend the winter there. You could see black-necked cranes, black storks, bar-headed geese, scaly-sided mergansers, etc. The best time for bird watching is during the sunrise and during the sunset when the views of the lake is the most gorgeous.
Beauty Spring originates from the intersection of Wohu Mountain and Beidou Mountain. The water is crystal-clear that you could see the bottom of the pool which is 6 meters deep. Forests by the lake are great for hiking as well.
The Ancient Tea Horse Road is near the lake. Several horse ranches are situated close to the lake. They offer horse-back riding service along the Tea Horse Road. If interested, you could enjoy horse-back riding to explore the ancient road. You could pick your own horse for the rideing after the payment. In addition, you could enjoy hiking along the ancient road.
If you are planning to visit Lashi Lake for photography purposes, the best time to visit is during the sunrise and the sunset.

You could take Bus 31 or Bus 32 to the Stop of Wetland Park (湿地公园) or rent a vehicle to the Lashi Lake from Lijiang.
