Harbin Church of the Intercession - Eastern Orthodox Church in Harbin

Located at No. 268, Dongdazhi Street, Nangang District, Harbin, Church of the Intercession was originally built in the prayer spot in the area of cemetery of the Russian people. In 1930, the existing church was designed by the famous Russian architect Zhdanov who imitated the artistic style of Saint Sophia Cathedral in Istanbul, Turkey. The 2,600-kilometers-bell is still well-preserved in the church.

What to expect at the Harbin Church of the IntercessionFormerly call the Ukraine Church, Church of the Intercession has a plan of the cross. Featuring the Byzantine style, the facade is painted red. Crosses stand on the five green domes of the church. The dome in the center of the church features 12 exquisite curved lighting windows the frame of which forms the pattern of the cross. The large dome is surrounded by 4 small domes in the four directions.
A tower stands on the main entrance. The bell is hung there. The tower has a small dome as well. You’ll see many crosses on the wall or the window of the church. Statues of Jesus Christ and Virgin Mary are worshiped in the church. When the church is covered with snow in winter, views there can be very breathtaking. |

The church is only opened to the public from 09:00 to 11:00 am on Sundays.

Unfortunately, there is no direct bus passing by the church. The only option is to rent a vehicle.
