Haishe Park ​- local park at Erhai Lake

Lying at Jinhe Village, Xizhou Town at the western bank of Erhai Lake, Haishe Park offers ideal natural spots for photographing and hiking. It is located around 6 kilometers from Xizhou Town. The tongue-shaped shoal in the park stretches into the lake, which the name of the park comes from. The shoal is around 1.5 kilometers long.

What to expect at Haishe Park

Offering gorgeous landscape, Haishe Park, a natural wetland park, is underdeveloped. Cangshan Mountain lies opposite the park. At Haishe Park, the half part of the withered trees lies in Erhai Lake while the other half stands on the land. After you walk through the entrance of the park, green bamboo forest will be a feast for eyes.
Willows stand on the shoal. Aquatic birds fly along the bank of Erhai Lake to enjoy themselves. From spring to autumn, a variety of wild flowers come out, making great background for photographing. In addition, you will be refreshed while walking in the sea of flowers. Tens of cypress creates a good place for visitors to relax. If you don’t mind, you could stand under the tree to take a rest, let the breeze kiss your cheek on fine days.
It takes around 8 minutes walk from the carpark to the entrance of the park. Some visitors thought the road of this section was hard to walk. Thus, you could take a carriage for an extra charge of 5 CNY per person if you like.

Best time to visit Haishe Park

If you are planning to visit the park for photography purposes, the best time to visit is during the sunset.
The best months to visit are from April to October.

 

How to get to Haishe Park

If you are planning to ride a bike along the Erhai Lake ring, it is suggested that you explore the park together with Xizhou Town.
