The most special one is Khau Love Market held on the lunar 27th of March each year in Meo Vac Town. It offers a good chance for local young people to find the half. It is just held once one year. At the market, they sing and dance. Meo Vac also holds a distinctive livestock market every Sunday. If interested, you could go for a visit.
In Ha Giang Town, the market is also held on Sunday. At the market, visitors can find Red Dao, White Hmong, Tay and Nung ethnic minorities in their own costumes. Hoang Su Phi Sunday Market offers visitors an option to enjoy natural beauty on the way to the market. You’ll see Hmong, Tay, Nung, Dao, and La Chi people there as well.
If you want to explore a less crowded market in Ha Giang, it is suggested to pay a visit to Ma Le Frugal Fair which is close to Lung Cu Peak. Pho Bang Market is held every six days in the Pho Bang Village in the far north of Ha Giang. The village has old houses with a history of more than 100 years to explore as well. Near the Pho Bang Village is Pho Cao Village. The village is home to 17 ethnic minorities. If lucky enough, you may see locals in their costumes at the local market which is also held every six days.
