Grape Valley - largest valley in the Flaming Mountains near Turpan

Located 11 kilometers northeast of Turpan, Grape Valley stretches about 8 kilometers long from north to south and 2 kilometers wide from east to west. It is the largest valley in the Flaming Mountains. At the valley, you can not only feel the magical landscape of nature, taste the sweetest grapes in the world, but also enjoy the passionate dance of the Uighur boys, the thrilling Dawazi performance, and the scene when the Uighur girls pick grapes.

What to expect at Grape Valley
At Grape Valley, you will find Grape Valley Amusement Park, Wang Luobin Music Art Museum, Dawazi Folk Customs Garden, Oasis Grape Manor and Uyghur Ethnic Village that shows Uyghur architectural features, folk customs, and Uighur farm life.
There are mainly non-nuclear white grapes at the valley, as well as 13 varieties of grapes such as Manaizi, red grapes, Kashgar, Rijiagan, and Suosuo. They are in the shape of sphere, egg, oval, etc. Some grapes are crystal-clear like pearls, some are bright like agate, and some are green like jade. If interested, you could pick the grapes for an additional fee. You will also get acquainted with the process of drying grapes into raisins there.
In addition, Uighur boys and girls will offer the unique amazing Uighur dancing to visitors. They will invite visitors to join them to enjoy dancing. While watching the performance, you will be arranged to sit in a special position in the yard, watching the performance while eating fresh fruit, such as apples, pears, granadas, etc. The stage is a simple high platform under the grape trellis.
If you are tired at the valley, you could try Uighur cuisine at one of local restaurants. Uyghur Ethnic Village features the local houses. At the village, you could experience the local life.

Best time to visit the Grape Valley
If you are planning to visit Grape Valley for photography purposes, the best time to visit is during the sunset.
The best months to visit are from April to July and from September to October.
How to get to the Grape Valley
There is only one direct bus to Grape Valley. Therefore, there are only a few options.
- Rent a vehicle to the valley. This is the quickest and most direct option.
- Take Bus 5 to the Stop of the Intersection of Grape Valley Scenic Area (葡萄沟景区路口).
