Situated around 90 kilometers from Suzhou, Grand Buddha at Ling Shan is 88 meters tall. It is composed of the Buddha and lotus throne. The Buddha is 79 meters tall while the throne has a height of 9 meters. The Buddha stands and smiles on the throne.

What to expect at Grand Buddha at Ling ShanGrand Buddha at Ling Shan is fitted with two lifts at the podium in the base of the structure. The lifts can take you to the top of the lotus throne. If you’d like to, you can touch the feet of the Buddha. Observe carefully and you’ll find the great toe is as tall as you. If you’re interested to admire the panoramic views of the Buddha, it is recommended that you stand far from the Buddha or at the viewpoint before the steps to the Buddha.
As Grand Buddha at Ling Shan is located Lingshan Buddhist Scenic Spot, you can explore other spots in the area. It is worth exploring the splendid Lingshan Palace with 5 exquisite towers on the roof. The palace is an outstanding works of art and Buddhism. The palace is decorated with fine carvings, reliefs and frescoes inside. Wuyin Mandala there is a great place to experience the Tibetan culture and folks. You’ll view amazing paintings, frescoes, wooden carvings, Thangka, and other Tibetan decorations in the building. Jiulong Guanyu Sculpture is the largest music bronze across China. There are four shows every day. |

How to get to Grand Buddha at Ling Shan
Unfortunately, there is no direct buses to the Buddha from Suzho. But you can take a high-speed train to Wuxi (the journey just takes around 30 minutes) and then take Bus 88 or Bus 89 to the Stop of Lingshanshengjing (灵山胜境站). Alternatively, you can just rent a vehicle to the area from Suzhou.

- Opening hours: 07:00 - 17:30 (April - October); 07:00 - 17:00 (November - March)
- As at 15th October 2020, the entrance pricing to Lingshan Buddhist Scenic Spot where the Buddha (including the Buddha, Jiulong Guanyu, Lingshan Palace and Wuyin Mandala but excluding Treasure Hall in the Lingshan Palace ) is situated is 210 CNY per person; children under 1.2m tall (1.2m tall not included) are free of charge; If children under 1.2m tall (1.2m tall not included) want to enjoy Jixiangsong Show, they are required to pay for the show for 50 CNY per person.
