What is the Flying Tigers Museum

Located around 13 kilometers from Guilin City, the Flying Tigers Museum is situated in the ruins of the old Yangtang Airport (秧塘机场). Numerous precious materials are on display in the museum, such as the related military uniforms, medals of Honor, old pictures and more. A C-47 aircraft donated by American Flying Tigers Historical Committee lies before the museum.

What to expect at Flying Tigers Museum

The Flying Tigers Museum in Guilin offers the Anti-Japanese War Memorial Hall, the Monument to the Heroes of the Anti-Japanese War, the Relief Wall of the Heroes of the Anti-Japanese War, the Scenery Sculpture of the Air Force, and the ruins of the barracks and a command post to explore.

Nearly 300 pieces of historical relics in the museum are donated by American Flying Tigers Historical Committee as well. The entire exhibition is composed of six parts, the prelude hall, Sky of the History, Tigers Roaring in the sky, the Flying Tigers in Guilin, Eternal Designation, and the last hall.

The best time to visit Flying Tigers Museum is in the morning.

The best months to visit are from April to October.

How to get to Flying Tigers Museum

You could take Bus 61 and Bus 85 to the Stop of Feihu Linju (飞虎林居站) and then walk to the museum. Or you could rent a vehicle to the museum directly from Guilin.

  • Opening hours: 09:00 – 12:30 and 14:30 – 17:30 from Monday to Sunday.
  • As at 18th January 2023, the entrance pricing is free of charge.
  • Please keep quiet when inside the museum.
