What to expect at Duxiufeng
Reading Rock at the southeast side of Duxiufeng is acclaimed as the oldest cultural spot there. Its name comes from the historical fact that the then prefecture, Yan Yanzhi (384 – 456) usually read books close to the rock. You can find the oldest essay in the Tang Dynasty (618 – 907) depicting Guilin’s landscape.
Standing at the southwest side of the peak, Peaceful Cave features the carving image with a history of more than 360 years. Duxiufeng offers 136 pieces of stone carvings. Carved at the south wall of the peak, Nantian Yizhu is the largest among the carvings. Made in the Yuan Dynasty (1271 – 1368),the carving image of Confucius is exquisite.
Overlooking the entire city of Guilin, Duxiu Pavilion on the top of the peak is an antique one. Lattice windows between the pillars are one of the amazing views there.
Snow Cave at the east foot of the peak features the white wall. The stalactites in the cave are snow-white.
As the peak is located in the Jingjiang Prince City, it is suggested to explore the peak together with the city.
Best time to visit Duxiufeng
If you are planning to visit Duxiufeng for photography purposes, the best time to visit is in the morning on sunny days.
The best months to visit are from April to October.
How to get to Solitary Beauty Peak
Duxiufeng is situated in the Jingjiang Prince City. Thus, you’d need to go to the entrance to the city first. However, there is no direct bus to the entrance. Therefore, the only option is to rent a vehicle.

- Opening hours: 07:30 – 18:00 (March – April); 07:30 – 18:30 (May – October 7); 07:30 – 18:00 (October 8 – December 7); 08:00 – 18:00 (December 8 – February)
- As at 18th January 2023, the entrance pricing to the Jingjiang Prince City and Duxiufeng is 100 CNY per person; children under 1.2m tall (1.2m tall not included) are free of charge; children between 1.2m tall (1.2m tall included) and 1.4m tall (1.4m tall not included) are charged 50 CNY per person.
