Daxu Ancient Town is well-known for the 2-kilometers-long old street. In ancient times. It gathers businessmen. Two-courtyard or three-courtyard old houses in the Ming (1368 – 1644) and Qing (1644 – 1912) Dynasties stands on either side of the street. The houses offer exquisite carvings on the door and windows. You could find traditional bamboo weaving shops, traditional Chinese medicine stores, traditional barber shops, local sauce shops, etc. Some old people like to enjoy the sunbath at the door.

Originally built in the Ming Dynasty and rebuilt in 1899, Wanshou Bridge (Longevity Bridge – 万寿桥) was built with stone. At the western bank of the bridge is the Li River. The bridge is a good point to admire the Li River and Mopanshan Hill across the river. The bridge features the breathtaking sunset as well.

In addition, the assembly halls around the old town are also one of the highlights. If you are interested in Guangxi Opera, it is suggested to explore the town theater. As at 8th November 2019, tourists can visit the theater for free. During the Spring Festival, locals are used to doing dragon dance around the town. Daxu Ancient Town Museum offers a great chance to know some about the town to you. It is adjacent to the parking lot there.​
