The Chengdu Panda Research Base features tens of lovely giant pandas. In the base, you could also see little panda cubs, red pandas, black-necked cranes, and white cranes. They live on the Axe Mountain which offers a good environment. It is recommended that you get to the base as early as possible to take up the best location for photographing the cute animals.

 

Most of the visitors to Chengdu always pay a visit to Dujiangyan Irrigation System no matter what are they. The system is more than 2,200 years old. It has brought great well-beings to locals. Also, it is the oldest one around the world. Through the good maintain, the irrigation system still functions well. The area also offers an old rope bridge over the Min River to you to experience the system at close range.

Qingcheng Mountain is one of the 4 main Taoist famous mountains across China. It is acclaimed as the holy land of Taoism in the world. Around the year, it is dotted with green trees. Heming Tea House aged 98 years old offers local traditional tea to have a try. If interested, you could also explore the corner of blind dating there.

Jinsha Archaeological Site offers us a great chance to explore the history of the Ancient Shu Kingdom (1045 BC – 360 BC). The excavated objects there include ivory, jade, wooden, stone, bronze and gold wares reflecting the social life at that time. We could also know more about it through the music drama – Jinsha and the 4D movie – Dream Back to Jinsha.

 

Wuhouci Temple is set up to commemorate the heroes in the Shu Han Kingdom (221 – 263). Among them, the best-known are Zhuge Liang (181 – 234), Liu Bei (161 – 223). The well-preserved sculptures of the heroes are worshiped in the temple. The objects on display reflect some of the important facts during the period of time.

Jinli Pedestrian Street features the old buildings in end Qing Dynasty (1644 – 1912). Most of them are transformed into distinctive hotels, restaurants, bars and boutiques. The street also offers local culture, including clay sculptures, shadow play, and sugar paintings. As it is within 10 minutes walk from Wuhouci Temple, it is advised that you visit the two spots in one day.

 

Kuanzhai Ancient Street is very popular among visitors and locals as well. The buildings there are courtyards. You could enjoy the hot pot in Kuan Zuo (宽坐) – one of the best local restaurants there or refresh yourself with local tea at one of the tea houses. In addition, there are several Western restaurants on the street to meet the need of those who love Western food. At night, the views there are stunning.

Originally built in the Tang Dynasty (618 – 907), Anren Ancient Town offers the old buildings in end Qing Dynasty and early Republic of China (1912 – 1949). Most of the buildings there combines the style of the houses in West Sichuan and the Western style in early Republic of China. Some of them are transformed into museums with the original furnishing. The town is home to the largest private museum – Jianchuan Museum Cluster.

 

With a long history of more than 2,000 years, Huang Long Xi features old blue stone streets, old stone bridges, old temples, old houses, old wharf plus old battle field, etc. It is divided into two parts by a steam. The deeper you walk into the town, the quieter you will feel. The town also offers tasty local food to try.
