The Detian Waterfalls are a large set of waterfalls located in Guangxi Province on the border of China and Vietnam. The falls lie on the Chinese sides of the border with the official name of the dual waterfalls being the Ban Gioc-Detian Waterfalls.
With drops of up to 70 meters, the falls are a popular day for visitors traveling from Nanning. From Nanning, it takes approximately 3 hours to travel to the Detian Waterfalls and visitors can either choose to stay overnight in and around this area (there are some nearby attractions to visit) or simply return to Nanning after visiting.

Laozhai Mountain is located in Xingping which is approximately 40 minutes drive from Yangshuo. Aside from the Li River private rafts which are available here, it's also possible to see the spectacular bird's eye view of the Li River from the top of Laozhai Mountain. The walk uphill starts relatively easily but as you get towards the top, it gets quite steep and at one point there is even a ladder that you need to climb!
You need to be relatively fit to climb up this mountain and please be advised that for the majority of the hike there are no handrails either side to assist in the climb. For safety reasons, we cannot include this walk in our tours. However, a large number of visitors ascend the hill on a daily basis to caputre the spectacular sunset over the karst mountains. If you travel there independently, enjoy your visit and make sure you leave enough time to return to the base of the mountain before dark!
