Aside from the Li River private rafts which are available here, it's also possible to see the spectacular bird's eye view of the Li River from the top of Laozhai Mountain. The walk uphill starts relatively easily but as you get towards the top, it gets quite steep and at one point there is even a ladder that you need to climb!
You need to be relatively fit to climb up this mountain and please be advised that for the majority of the hike there are no handrails either side to assist in the climb. For safety reasons, we cannot include this walk in our tours. However, a large number of visitors ascend the hill on a daily basis to caputre the spectacular sunset over the karst mountains. If you travel there independently, enjoy your visit and make sure you leave enough time to return to the base of the mountain before dark! |
