Located at Xiaopojiao Village, Yiliang, some 53 kilometers from the City of Kunming, the Most Winding Road – 68 Turns was built in 1995. It is 6.8 kilometers long and 5 meters wide. There are 42 turns at the section with a length of 3 kilometers. The straight line of the shortest turn is up to 50 meters long. The 68 Turns is a paradise for photographers and the adventure enthusiasts to enjoy cycling.

The Most Winding Road – 68 Turns offers stunning views. It is surrounded by green woods. It lies on the ridge. The starting points of two turns are less than 100 meters away from each other. The road is close to Kunming – Stone Forest Highway and the county of Yiliang. Many drivers love to challenge themselves on the road. Overlooking from the high sky, it looks like a long and giant dragon.
There is a viewpoint for visitors to appreciate the gorgeous winding road on the top of the Yanquansi Mountain opposite the road. Many photographers tried to take pictures of the 68 turns on the viewpoint while they have just taken pictures of 30 turns at most. From spring to autumn, various wild flowers are in blossom along the road, which creating amazing views. If interested, you could try cycling along the road to explore its unique charm as well. More than 2,000 cherry trees stand along the road. The road will be a sea of flowers in spring. If you feel tired after you get to Jing’anshao (靖安哨) on the top of the ridge where the road lies, you could refresh yourself at one of the restaurants there.
The best time to visit Most Winding Road – 68 Turns is in the morning out of safety. If you are planning to visit it for photography purposes, the best time to visit is during the sunset.
The best months to visit are from April to October.
There is no direct bus to the road from Kunming. The only option is to rent a vehicle.
